Unemployment worsens- rises to 9.6%

I wish I had better news to report on Obama’s ‘Recovery Summer’, however, this morning it was reported that unemployment rose to 9.6%.  US employers cut 67,000 jobs in August despite claims by the Obama administration that we would be adding 250,000 jobs per month.  This is further evidence that Obama’s economic policies are not working and that the Stimulus Bill has failed.

The Wall Street Journal Reports:

Job losses continued to mount in the U.S. economy last month, though at a more modest pace than expected, putting further pressure on policy makers to take action to spur growth and employment.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 54,000 last month, matching the level of revised losses recorded the previous month, the U.S. Labor Department said Friday. The revision in July layoffs to 54,000 followed an original estimate of a 131,000 drop in payrolls.

The U.S. economy has shed jobs for three straight months, though the losses in August were about half the 110,000 predicted by economists in a Dow Jones Newswires survey.

The unemployment rate, calculated using a separate household survey, edged up to 9.6%, as expected, after holding at 9.5% for previous two months.

The report is likely to cause renewed debate during the long Labor Day weekend over what new steps the Federal Reserve and Congress should consider to jump-start the job market.

Radical Liberal Militant takes hostages, killed

A liberal environmental militant who claims to have been influenced by Al Gore and his documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, took hostages and planted explosives at the headquarters of the ‘Discovery Channel this afternoon.  Under the list of demands, James J. Lee called for the halt to birth of “parasitic humans”.

Fortunately, all of the hostages survived, however, Lee was killed. Lee’s actions further demonstrate how radical and militant liberals have become. The silver lining in all this is there is one less liberal today.

AP reports: Republicans slated for a landslide in November

AP report:

Americans with the strongest opinions about the country’s most divisive issues are largely unhappy with how President Barack Obama is handling them, an ominous sign for Democrats hoping to retain control of Congress in the fall elections.

In nine of 15 issues examined in an Associated Press-GfK Poll this month, more Americans who expressed intense interest in a problem voiced strong opposition to Obama’s work on it, including the economy, unemployment, federal deficits and terrorism. They were about evenly split over the president’s efforts on five issues and strongly approved of his direction on just one: U.S. relationships with other countries.

In another danger sign for Democrats, most Americans extremely concerned about 10 of the issues say they will vote for the Republican candidate in their local House race. Only those highly interested in the environment lean toward the Democrats.

The findings are troubling for Democrats struggling to protect their House and Senate majorities on Election Day. They suggest that many of the most involved voters — those with the deepest feelings about issues high on the nation’s agenda — are furious with the party in power and will take out their wrath at the polls.

“I’m going to vote Republican, and hope there’s some kind of message sent to the administration that the public is unhappy with what’s happened the first two years of the Obama administration,” said Mark Milanese, 49, a building remodeler from Coatesville, Pa., who expressed strong disapproval for the president’s approach to many major issues.

Congressional races often turn on local concerns and the candidates’ character, factors that may yet sway many races this year. But many analysts think the public’s widely sour mood — just 35 percent in the AP-GfK poll said the country is headed in the right direction — means this year’s campaigns could be widely influenced by national issues, especially the economy.

“The economy is poor, we’re muddling through in Afghanistan, we’re not making much progress in the war on terror,” said Paul Goren, a University of Minnesota political scientist who studies voting behavior. “Every once in a while national issues can intrude. It looks like there’s a good chance this will be one of those elections.”

To find people with the most intense views, the AP examined poll respondents who called an issue extremely important and compared those who strongly approved of Obama’s handling of that matter with those who strongly disapproved.

By a 3-to-1 margin, more of these highly opinionated people strongly disapproved of the president’s effort on the economy than strongly approved. More strongly disapproved of Obama’s actions by a 2-to-1 ratio on unemployment, 2-1 on health care, 6-1 on the deficit and 2-1 on terrorism. His performance on Afghanistan, taxes, immigration and gas prices also drew strong disapproval.

Of the most frequently mentioned issues, the only one where most did not strongly disapprove of Obama’s work was education, on which they were closely divided. They were also split over his handling of energy, Iraq, the environment and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Those with the strongest views represent a minority of the population, ranging from one in nine people to one in three people, depending on the specific issue. Even so, they could be disproportionately crucial because turnout in election years without a presidential race is usually light.

Kristin Nilsen, 42, a Democrat and small business owner from North Hampton, N.H., considers education a top-tier problem and expressed disappointment that Obama hasn’t devoted more time to it. But she said the president had to focus on the economy “so people will have a roof over their heads,” and said she would vote for Democratic congressional candidates anyway to try thwarting the GOP.

“Their agenda is really about taking down the administration,” she said.

Predictably, Republicans with the strongest opinions were overwhelmingly critical of Obama on most issues, while the fiercest Democrats were usually solidly supportive.

In many instances, though, GOP sentiment was more decisive. For example, among Republicans calling the economy extremely important, 79 percent strongly disapproved of Obama’s efforts on the issue and 1 percent strongly approved. The margin was much narrower among Democrats: 27 percent strongly approved while 16 percent strongly disapproved.

Looking at independents who considered an issue extremely or very important, more strongly disapproved than strongly approved of Obama’s handling of 12 of the 15 issues. This included mostly negative views of Obama from independents on 10 of the 11 issues most frequently cited by people as important, including the economy, unemployment and health care.

The poll was conducted by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications from Aug. 11-16, using landline and cell phone interviews with 1,007 randomly chosen adults. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Liberals lie about Glenn Beck’s “Restore Honor” rally

CBS reported that 87,000 people attended Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally.  Yes, 87,000!  If you ever wanted evidence of media bias, that’s a perfect example.  Of course many of us knew that there would be liberal outlets who would claim that there was less than the anticipated 100,000 no matter how great the number.  Look at the pictures above and you be the judge.  Of course liberals would love to tell you that your eyes are lying just like they infer how your ears lie when told the truth.   Ask yourself, if the liberal media will lie about attendance numbers, what else do they lie about?

ABC News couldn’t completely lie.  No, instead they reported that “thousands” attended.  Not “tens of thousands” or “hundreds of thousands”, simply “thousands”.

Liberals would also want you to believe that this was a “white rally”, but the black speakers at the rally will tell you otherwise.   It is not the fault of Glenn Beck or the organizers of “Restoring Honor” if Blacks chose to give into liberal intimidation or succumbed to the liberal propaganda machine and stayed home.  It’s been reported that Al Sharpton was only able to draw a crowd of a mere 2,000-3,000 people, most of whom were Black.

The reporting by the liberal media illustrates just how low and unreliable they are and have become.  They are nothing more than an extended mouthpiece for the Democrat Party- failing to report the Democrats’ unethical behavior, their breaking of campaign promises, the true cost of health-care, the failure of the Stimulus, the full suffering of the economy, the failure in Afghanistan, the failure of Obama’s foreign policy, his inability to broker an embargo on Iran and North Korea, and much more.  The Democrat Party have failed the American people and so have the media.

Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” Rally

Barack Obama Inauguration

Lastly, if you ever wanted a more visual display of the differences between how liberals behave and how the rest of America behaves, look at the videos above.  There’s no more accurate visual illustration between those who have person responsibility and those who expect others to clean up the mess that they themselves have created.

Another Democrat, another ethics violation

It just doesn’t stop.  Another member of the Congressional Black Caucas has violated rules.  Democat (like I need to cite the party affliation) Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide’s two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers’ causes.

Under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money, the recipients were ineligible . Furthermore, all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member’s district.

Johnson denied any favoritism when asked about the scholarships last week. She acknowledged in a statement released by her office two days later that she had violated the rules but said she had done so “unknowingly” and would work with the foundation to “rectify the financial situation.” This has been the common excuse among Democrats.

Initially, she said, “I recognized the names when I saw them. And I knew that they had a need just like any other kid that would apply for one.” Had there been more “very worthy applicants in my district,” she added, “then I probably wouldn’t have given it” to the relatives. Whose buying that line?

Will Nancy Pelosi reinterate that she’s still running the most ethical Congress in history?

Khuram Sher rocking it out- what would Allah say

Have you heard of Khuram Sher?  He was part of an Ottawa-based terrorist cell with international connections which was only “months” away from exploding bombs on Canadian soil?  He also auditioned for Canadian Idol.  Liberals like to convince us that these Muslim terrorist are targeting Americans because, well, we’re evil… ok, let me be a little more precise- our “policies” are evil.  Well, that hasn’t stopped these Muslim terrorist from bombing the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and now an attempted bombing of Canada.  See, with liberals its always about America being to blame.

Of course the excuse will be that these countries have become targets because they are American allies.  Well, what that tells me is that this must be a war.  Yes, yes I know that Obama has done away with the phrase “War on Terror”, after all, we wouldn’t want to offend the sensibilities of terrorists, but the truth of the matter is that these Muslim terrorist see this as a war and are going to continue to fight.  No amount of placating, acquiescing, and apologizing will halt their goal of expanding Sharia Law and Islam.

And for those who say that certain government officials can’t be lying about their faith because of how they live their life, Khuram Sher proves that you can be a Muslim and subscribe to the tenants of the Koran while pretending to be someone or something you’re not.  Somehow I don’t think Avil Lavigne and break dancing fit into the Muslim faith.

Joe Biden lies about Stimulus and Jobs, AP reports

Finally some journalism from the AP.  Maybe they’ve final tired of the BS that the Obama Adminstration has been touting about the Stimulus Bill.

FRESNO, Calif. — Vice President Joe Biden said this week that the Obama administration “hit the accelerator” toward spending $5 billion under the economic stimulus law to weatherize people’s homes, create thousands of jobs, help consumers save money and put the nation on track for energy independence.

Yet the weatherization program the vice president highlighted in his visit Thursday to New Hampshire is widely considered among the least organized spending projects under the $814 billion economic stimulus law and has regularly been targeted for criticism of its slow progress by auditors and outsiders. Biden didn’t hint much at its troubles.

Nearly 18 months since it started, the stimulus weatherization program has experienced spending delays, inefficiencies and mismanagement. In Biden’s home state of Delaware, the entire program has been suspended since May, and last month federal auditors identified possible fraud.

In his visit to Manchester, N.H., Biden said the program already had retrofitted 200,000 homes and would meet its ambitious goals of nearly 600,000 homes by March 2012.

He called it “one of our signature programs” under the stimulus law, saying that “thousands of construction workers across the country are now on the job making energy-saving home improvements that will save working families hundreds of dollars a year on their utility bills.”

What Biden failed to mention:

_In Alaska, the program has yet to retrofit one home.

_In Texas, auditors found the private contractor earning the most in stimulus money did shoddy work on 60 percent of the houses it was hired to weatherize.

_In California, a contracting company paid nearly $3 million to caulk low-income residents’ homes didn’t train two dozen of its employees, the state’s inspector general found last week.

Again I ask, do we really want government to run our health care?  They’re ineffective, inefficient, and there’s always fraud involved costing taxpayers millions.

Hopey, Changey just ain’t working

I’ve been going through the news the last few days and I can’t help, but get more depressed as I see the “Recovery Summer” evaporate- that’s if you really ever bought into the spin that we were in a recovery.  In a way, I am pleased that Obama, Biden, and Company were propagandizing that they saved the economy by passing their Stimulus Bill and that the economy was in recovery, because now they have to take ownership of the collapsing economy.  Any yes, the economy is collapsing.  Take a look at some of the latest headlines:

1.  WIRE: It's starting to feel like another recession.

2.   One in 10 mortgage holders face foreclosure.

3.  S&P: USA Should Act to Protect AAA-Rating.

4.  Roubini: Growth to Be ‘Well Below’ 1% .

5.  MORGAN STANLEY Says Government Defaults Inevitable.

6.  New Home Sales Sink to Lowest Pace on Record.

7.  Worries about recovery deepen.

8.  Dow Faces ‘Bouncy Ride to 5,000′.

9.  Economy in ‘Depression, Not Recession’.

10.  Home sales plunge 27% to lowest in 15 years.

Ronald Reagan was famous for asking, “are you better off today than you were four years ago” and clearly for many Americans that answer is no and it probably explains why former President Bush’s approval ratings have been rising while Obama’s continues to slide.  It might also explain why in the latest Rasmussen Poll, Republicans now lead in all 10 important issues tracked.  More and more I am hearing of “buyers’ remorse” from friends, co-workers, and everyday people regarding Obama and the Democrats.  Clearly, they have recognized that things were much better four years ago.

Obama dispels Muslim rumors by golfing on Sunday

You’ve seen the polls- 20% of Americans now believe that Obama is a Muslim.  That’s up from 12%.  So what does Obama and his handlers do to convince the 20% that he’s a Christian?  Well, they send him golfing on a Sunday with some of his Chicago friends.

Inside track writes:

Now you’d think, with polls showing that one in five Americans believe Obama is a Muslim – and with the furor over the president’s flip-flops on the Ground Zero mosque – that his White House handlers might have orchestrated a nice little photo op of the first family doing a little vacation worshiping yesterday morning.

Because, despite the administration’s insistence that Barry is a Christian and that he prays daily, most Americans have noticed that Obama rarely attends church. That’s a noticeable departure from previous presidents, such as George W. Bush and Clinton, who were on their knees every Sunday.

Of course, the last time Obama had a regular church, it was Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright fame, and, well, we all know how that turned out.

The president’s handlers have said Obama doesn’t attend services regularly because he doesn’t want to be “hugely disruptive to congregations.” This is apparently not an issue on the golf course. Especially now that the Secret Service is following the boss in golf carts instead of those giant SUVs they drove down the fairways last year!

Let’s face it, the only reason why Obama attended church was to build himself credibility with the Black community and to give himself some cover.  He knew that America was not ready to vote for a Muslim so he attended a radical Black church which denounced Jews and Whites and blamed America for the ills of the world.   This was the type of “Christian” church he could actually tolerate.

It’s time that Barack Hussein Obama be proud of who and what he is and stop hiding.

Barack Obama and Clay Aiken

I was reading through the comments and came across one of my readers who was distraught that I spent so much time talking about Democrats and Obama and never mentioning Clay Aiken.  For those who are unaware, my career as a blogger was instigated by Claymates who were upset with me for outing Clay Aiken.  To placate that reader while not ostracizing those who enjoy the daily dose of politics, tonight I’ll write about both Clay and Obama.

There are so many similarities between Barack and Clay.  Both are Democrats.  Both can’t be trusted to keep their word.  Both say one thing, but do another.  Both lie with ease.  Both authored books filled with half-truths and exaggerations.  Both have a difficult time with keeping stories consistent.  Both make up eventsor scenarios to garner support or sympathy.  Both are constantly asking for money and/or donations.  Both put down others to boost up themselves.   Both pretend to be someone that they’re not.  Both can contradict themselves in the same sentence.  Both love to talk.  Both are very arrogant.  Both are untrustworthy.  Both have an elevated opinion of themselves.  Both do not like reporters who ask difficult or probing questions.  Both dislike Fox News…

I don’t think I need to go on.
