It’s early, I know, but I’ve had a tremendously long and eventful day.
It began early this morning. I arose from a restful sleep around 8:00 am and turned on CNBC to get the latest market news. After digesting all the opinions of the economic pundits, I put in sell orders for a number of my holdings. In my opinion, the market has rose at such an accelerated pace that I believe there will be a 5-10% correction next week.
By 9:30, I was at the gym burning up the elliptical trainer and doing a little lifting. Having burn over 650 calories, I walked around the corner to Starbucks where I treated myself to a delicious cup of the Carmel Machiato.
Having indulging in the delight of a Starbucks’ coffee, I made my way to Bank of America to sign my new car loan- thank you to those who suggested I search for a better rate. I refinanced the loan at 6.25%.
Upon leaving the bank, I immediately made a beeline for home- I had a friend coming over at 2:00. Okay, let me be upfront. He was a guy that I’ve been chatting with on Grindr for the past month. Orlando is a very attractive 29 year old Latino gentleman who, just recently, has been exploring his sexuality. Not to suggest that he’s the equivalent to Christopher Columbus and I, the Santa Maria, but I would offer that he rocked my boat and I, his world.
Orlando and I enjoyed each other’s company and had a very good time. As he was leaving, he pulled a beautiful sea shell bracelet and offered to me as a gift. It was very thoughtful.
After Orlando left, having etched a notch on the hull of his exploration ship, I jumped in the shower to ready myself for an evening with friends. By 6:30, I met with friends at Helio’s- a local downtown coffeeshop in Raleigh. We chatted for a bit as I sipped by hot cup of white mocha coffee, and then, headed to Bogart’s for the monthly gay social.
As expected, there wasn’t a very large crowd… this being one of the last Summer weekends of the season. We stayed for about an hour, before deciding to grab a bite to eat at the Borough. I ordered the French dip with fries, but ate about half. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but I haven’t had much of an appetite. In fact, friends remarked that I’ve lost a lot of weight… not that I was fat. My mother would suggest that I’ve lost too much. Certainly, the loss of appetite can be argued that it is directly attributed to the side effects of the Adderall. I would offer otherwise. For the past week, I’ve forgone the medication- I only take it if I feel I its necessary. For example, if I’m preparing budgeting reports. The truth is, I’ve limited myself to about a 1200 calorie a day diet for about 2 weeks- yes, it began with the Adderall. But, if you recall, my doctor advised me that my cholesterol was high, so eliminated most fried foods- save for tonight.
About 10:00 pm, I bid my friends goodbye, which was greeted with suggestions that I was getting old, and headed home. Tomorrow, I have another full day, beginning with meeting my mother’s builder to approve the area that has been staked out for the pouring of the foundation. Then, I’ll be heading to Lillington to visit with a family friend before heading home to catch some sun, weather permitting, and later the gym.
Well, that was my day. I know it will bore some of you, but for others who are interested, I hope you enjoyed reading about it.
