It was another full day today. For those of you who keep watch of my Flickr account, you know I started it out with a nice cup of Starbuck’s. What can I say, I’m addicted to it.
This morning, I met my mother and her builder in Willow Spring- the location where my mother will be building her home. The purpose of the meeting was to give approval of the proposed staked-out location of the house, as well as, approve the changes that we had the architect make. Beginning next week, they will be pouring the footers and we will finally start to see the house take shape.
My mother was so excited today. Her smile seemed to be permanently affixed to her face. We walked around the lot and she was already pointing out where she wanted to plant her vegetable garden and put her flowers. Down the road, her builder is contructing the same house, but not quite with the updates and changes that my mother made, so we went to take a look. My mother spent nearly an hour walking in each of the rooms, looking out at the deck and then the screen in patio… I found her in the master bedroom walk-in closet musing how she would finally have enough room to fit her clothes. The closet is large by most meaures, nearly 9×11.
Finally, I headed to Lillington, NC to visit with a family friend and then made my way back to Cary, NC to get in an hour workout before arriving home starved.
As for the rest of the night, I’m going to figure out a way of not spending it alone. After all, it is the Summer.
