Every so often it’s great to sleep in… and that’s exactly what I did today. I got to bed shortly after 1:00 am and woke up 10 hours later at 11:00. It felt great.
I decided to head to the pool… I haven’t really got much sun all Summer. The pool was empty, which made it more enjoyable. It was overcast and not much sun. Every now and then the sun would emerge from the clouds and beat down on my well-oiled body. I spent about an hour and a half soaking in the elusive rays that made its way through the ubiquitous cloud cover.
I headed home. Put on my sneakers. And headed to the gym. The gym was barren. With this being one of the last days of Summer, most were probably enjoying one of North Carolina’s gorgeous beaches. I spent about 30-35 minutes working on my arms and abs before torturing myself for 65 minutes on the elliptical trainer. Well, I should not describe it as torture as I really enjoy it. There’s something about getting the heart rate going, the sweat pouring, and the adrenalin rushing.
I left the gym and headed to the new Walmart in Morrisville to purchase some beverages and items for the house. I’m amazed at the number of people who shop there. While the parking is substantial, finding parking close to the entrance is rare. I know, it’s great excercise, but I just finished 65 minutes on the elliptical.
So now I’m home, preparing to pack my bags, shower, and head to Greensboro to visit a friend. It won’t be a long visit- just one day. And come Tuesday, I will be back at work- ending my four-day vacation. It was short and seemed to go by quickly. Regardless, it was relaxing and I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I have about 100 hours of vacation time left and hope to use some of it before the end of the year. Undoubtedly, some of which will be used to help my mother with her move in December.
I’m off to get ready for my trip. Keep an eye on my Flickr bar. I’m sure I’ll have updated photos and videos to share.
