Kanye West- race related outburst?

EMA 2007

Last night I offered that Kanye West’s behavior last night had more to do with him harboring thoughts that Beyonce’s lost was due to racism than plain lack of decorum.  Some argued otherwise.

For those of us who have followed Kanye, we know that he believes that everything is motivated by race.  To further my point, I offer these past examples:

One day after blaming racism for his 2007 MTV VMA opening ousting in favor of Britney Spears, Kanye West has vowed to never return to the network’s Video Music Awards. Kanye began yelling about losing all five categories for which he was nominated.

“That’s two years in a row, man … give a black man a chance,” West said, stomping around his entourage and directing his comments at a reporter. “I’m trying hard man, I have the … number one record, man.”

He said he will never return to MTV Video Music Awards 2007.

“I can’t believe she would perform. She hasn’t had a hit record in years,” he said, angry that MTV didn’t invite him to open the show. “Maybe my money’s not right. Maybe my skin’s not right.”

The ‘Jesus Walks’ star told US Weekly:

“Honestly, I really don’t care. I don’t give a fuck about Britney performing.”

“I should have opened the MTV awards because ‘Stronger’ is the number one album in the country,” he said.

And this is what he had to say about Gretchen Wilson after losing to her:

Upon hearing he has lost the Best New Artist award to “Redneck Woman” Gretchen Wilson, West storms out of the AMAs in a show of protest. He later tells reporters, “I felt like I was definitely robbed, and I refused to give any politically correct bullsh–ass comment … I was the best new artist this year.” He also brings up the idea of a massive conspiracy against him, questions the award show’s voting process and promises never to return to the AMAs. A legend is born.

Still don’t think his outburst was race related?
