Yosi Sargeant and Barack Obama

1.  A Obama and Clinton fundraiser was charged with defrauding US banks out of $290 million.  Hassam Nemazee has been a major Democrat fundraiser.  Nemazee, 59, typically donates more than $100,000 annually to Democratic political candidates. He is listed as one of the top “bundlers” of contributions to Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to OpenSecrets.org, a website run by the Center for Responsive Politics research group.

2.  Bowing to political pressure, defying his own commander in Afghanistan, and backing away from his campaign promise, Obama has decided to hold off sending more troops to Afghanistan.  General McChrystal, in the leaked memo, states that the war in Afghanistan will be lost unless the president makes a commitment to send more troops.  The President said on Sunday that he hasn’t had time to review the report.  Hmmm… I guess doing 5 Sunday shows, Letterman, and talking to school children is of greater concern that troops fighting in war and needing more support.

3.  Seven former CIA Directors are asking that the President put an immediate halt to the investigation of techniques implemented by CIA agents stating that such a politically motivated investigation will have dire consequences on the CIA’s ability to execute its mission.  Obama insists he’s just following the law.

4.  The Obama administration may have broken the law as evidence by  leaked transcripts today.  Weeks after receiving additional grant money as part of the stimulus bill, White House officials directed the head of the National Endowment of the Arts, to support Obama’s health-care agenda.  This is in direct violation of the law.  The audio can be heard here.
