Friday night and the Rio

Lynnwood Grill

Michael and I spent yesterday evening together.  Of course, we didn’t abide by the exact itinerary.  We met last night for a quick bite to eat at Lynnwood Grill in Raleigh.  The place was filled with people.  I often go there with co-workers for lunch and occasionally after work.  For myself, I had the personal sized barbecue pizza.  Michael, he had a Greek salad.  We wash our meals down with two vodka and tonics each… and the drinks were strong.

After eating, we walked next door to the Raleigh Grande and saw the sci-fi movie ‘Pandorum’.  It’s a movie that I would not typically go to see, so it was nice that Michael had suggested it.  I really enjoyed it.

After the movie we went back to my place and had a couple of cordials.  Michael opened up about his long-term relationship in New Jersey.  He also told me about his boyfriend in Raleigh, and about his wife and two children, Maria and Miguel.   It was getting late and we decided to go to bed and cuddle.  Michael is quite the romantic and I was so fortunate to have him to myself last night…  OK, OK,  Michael doesn’t have a boyfriend nor a wife with two children.  I’m just messing with you.

We did have an enjoyable evening together and it was very sweet… and innocent.  I’m not sure if he and I will actually do the “rock climbing” thing tonight.  I’m a bit tired and I still have to work out tonight.  I’ve been very dedicated with my work-out regimen.

On another note, I just wanted to comment on Obama’s failure to bring the Olympics to Chicago.  The most embarrassing aspect of this is not that he failed to influence the IOC members to select Chicago, but that Chicago was eliminated in the first round after having been rumored to be in the top to with Rio de Janeiro.  Let’s face it, why would the IOC choose Chicago after Obama spent the first 9 months of his presidency telling the world what a terrible place the United States was.  What committee would want to select a country to host its Olympics that tortures, rapes the world of its resources, causes global warming, invades innocent nations, doesn’t respect other cultures, is arrogant, and let’s not forget; racist.   Yes, the loss of the Olympics to Brazil was a complete embarrassment for the “one”.
