What a long long afternoon, but mom and I got it done. Today we had to choose her appliances, cabinets, siding, roofing, interior paint, hardwood floor, bathroom tile, granite counter-tops, marbled counter-tops, etc. While it was exhausting, we had fun and we made some excellent choices.
Here are the appliance choices that we made:

These are the choices we made for the kitchen cabinets and granite counter-tops:

Vanilla Glazed Antique Cabinetry

Granite counter-top
The interior paint:

Antique White for trim, Latte for the all the rooms, except the Java which will go in the formal dining room above the antique white trim.
Flooring:

Tile for bathrooms and laundry room

Hardwood flooring
The pictures don’t really show how very pretty the carpeting is with light shimmers of metallic thread running through chocolate browns. Same goes for the tile. I just couldn’t get good lighting.
We also chose the stone for the outside today, as well as the siding, trim, door, and gutters. We went with light brown and cream for the siding, with chocolate brown gutters, and shingles. We chose a harvest brown for the roofing and a dark stain finish for the custom front door. The front door is beautiful, by the way. It came in today. It has a transom over the top, and then glass windows on either side, with more glass in the center. It looks similar to this, but more classic and without the whimsical design on the glass.
What else can I share… oh, the are almost done putting in the plumbing and electric. Tomorrow they are installing the heating and air duct work and Thursday, if weather permits, they’ll put the roofing on. Siding begins next week. I can’t say it enough, I’m amazed at how quickly they are building mom’s home. Amazingly fast.
