Obama losing the war in Afghanistan- troop morale suffers

Soldier in Afghanistan

Not since Jimmy Carter has troop morale been so low.  American troop morale is rapidly sinking as many soldiers complain that the war has lost its focus and they are being left to die on the battlefield.   “We’re lost — that’s how I feel. I’m not exactly sure why we’re here,” says one soldier.  Another, “the whole country is going to s***”. Asked if the war is worth it, one soldier replied, “If I knew exactly what the mission was, probably so, but I don’t.”

While the Obama administration passes out white doctor coats for its staged show of support for health-care reform, body bags are piling up as more American lives are lost.  US casualities in Afghanistan have reached records levels with 8 soldiers losing their lives just this weekend.

In a recent speech, General McCrystal said that more troops would be needed or else the war in Afghanistan will be lost.  For his bluntness, General McCrystal was summoned to Airforce One and admonished by the President as Obama returned from making a bid for the Olympics.

American allies in the region are debating whether to send more troops to Afghanistan as they begin to question the United States’ commtment to the war.

What a tragedy that, in just 10 short months, the United States’ victories in Afghanistan have been lost and the risk of defeat by the Taliban seems to be immenient because of a lack of leadership and direction by the commander-in-chief.
