Reading through today’s comment there was an inquiry as to the colors that mom and I chose for her siding. Knowing how important it is to emulate our superlative style and design acumen, I thought it incumbent upon myself to share.
Mom and I chose tan and beige for the siding. The shutters will be a dark brown that will match the dark brown that we chose for the gutters. Under the front porch will be finished in stone which will have accents of merlot. As a reminder, the kitchen will have vanilla glazed cabinetry with under lighting and glass in the upper cabinetry by either side of the sink- just in case there are those who are “testing me”.
In speaking with the builder today, the siding will be going up next week and they will begin the trim work– putting in the coffered ceiling and chair detail mill work in the dining room, building the custom shelving and closets, putting in all the crown molding, installing the fireplace mantel, etc. Then the hardwood flooring and tile should follow. There’s another 2 weeks before the cabinet maker is finished building the cabinets and then the installation of those should follow. As of now, the house is scheduled to be completed in 7 1/2 weeks.
