Adam Lambert, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin are among Barbara Walters’ ‘Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009′

Barbara Walters

Adam Lambert, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin are among Barbara Walters’ ‘Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009′.   This ought to be a great show.

From Zap2It.com

As was rumored early last week, ”American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert will indeed be one of Barbara Walters‘ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.

Walters confirmed his invitation on Monday’s (Nov. 30) episode of “The View,” though the poster below seems to confirm several of the annual special’s other subjects as well: Lady GagaTyler PerrySarah PalinBrett FavreKate Gosselin and Glenn Beck.

We haven’t yet received word from ABC on whether or not the poster is official. However, even if it is and this list is in fact accurate, that still leaves three open spots.

Any thoughts on who will fill them?

“Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People” will air Dec. 9.

Joe Wilson was right, the President lied
Nov 30th, 2009 by John Paulus

President Obama

Where to begin… when the President spoke to the American people and told them that the health-care bill making its way through Congress would be paid for by premiums– he lied.  When he told the American people that the health-care bill would be deficit neutral– he lied (The Congressional Budget Office report says that it will add to the deficit in 2019).  The President lied when he said he wouldn’t raise taxes to pay for the health-care plan on the middle class.  The Senate bill includes a whole host of stealth taxes that specific targets the middle class and small businesses.  Now word comes from an article in the Washington Times that illegals will be covered under the health-care proposal.  He looks as if Congressman Joe Wilson was right all along, the President lied.

From the Washington Times:

Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants could receive health care coverage from their employers under the bills winding their way through Congress, despite President Obama’s explicit pledge that illegal immigrants would not benefit.

The House bill mandates, and the Senate bill strongly encourages, businesses to extend health care coverage to all employees. But the bills do not have exemptions to screen out illegal immigrants, who usually obtain jobs by using false identities and are indistinguishable from legal workers.

A rough estimate by the Center for Immigration Studies suggests that the practical effect of the mandates would be that about 1 million illegal immigrants could obtain health insurance coverage through their employers.

Democrats who wrote the House bill said that employer coverage for illegal immigrants is not intentional, but rather the outcome of people breaking the law.

“It’s possible an employee could deceive an employer with a fraudulent document, just as under current law, to gain employment, just as it’s possible for all sorts of criminal activity to occur, and why we have law enforcement,” said Nadeam Elshami, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, who wrote the final House bill.

Republicans said that loopholes in the bill could allow coverage to just about any illegal immigrant who wants to cheat the system.

“This is a complete cover-all-the-gaps federal health insurance for illegals, whether it be under Medicaid, the refundable tax credit or whether it be under their employers who would not be able to verify their employers unless we fix E-Verify,” said Rep. Steve King of Iowa, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee.

How to deal with immigrants, both legal and illegal, remains one of the thorniest issues in the health care debate. In his address to a joint session of Congress in September, Mr. Obama specifically challenged Republicans who said his plans would extend coverage to illegal immigrants.

“This, too, is false — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally,” Mr. Obama said.  Continued…

Bozell Column: Ridiculous Idol Excuses
Nov 29th, 2009 by John Paulus

Adam Lambert

I normally agree with Brent Bozell’s columns, but I have an issue with this one posted at NewsBusters.org;

If there is an entertainment trend ripe for satire, it is the begging-for-attention smut routines at nationally televised music awards shows. How low can these “artists” go? Sadly, there is always another frontier. “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was the latest offender at the November 22 American Music Awards on ABC, with a routine complete with S&M bondage slaves, deep male-on-male kissing, and simulated fellatio on stage.

All in front of millions upon millions of impressionable youngsters. It was another in-your-face Janet Jackson moment.

There’s only one thing that makes this funny. It’s the idea that somehow none of this was planned, that it was just a spontaneous eruption. ABC was embarrassed enough by Lambert to cancel a planned performance on “Good Morning America.” If they expected cheers for that, they’re sadly mistaken. ABC clearly wanted to avoid making its news division question the entertainment division’s horrendous decision-making.

Every piece of evidence we have suggests ABC and Lambert knew exactly what they were going to do. Lambert told MTV to expect something really sexy. “I was looking for a certain sensuality,” he explained about choosing his dancers, and said the S&M wardrobe was “amazing.” MTV reported it would feature the sensibility of his music video for the song he performed: “Adam Lambert is fully embracing the S&M lyrics featured in his single. Greased up dancers are dolled up in leather, dog collars, nipple clamps (zoinks!) and platform boots.”

The rough-sex lyrics of the song ABC approved for national consumption are very clear: “I’ma hold ya down until you’re amazed / Give it to ya ’til your screaming my name.” And this: “Baby I’m in control /Take the pain / Take the pleasure / I’m the master of both.”

For their part, ABC repeatedly told viewers to stick around for Lambert’s routine. They scheduled it at the very end of show so they could suggest it was irresponsible for parents if their children caught this porny show right before the late news.

It is clearly offensive to watch ABC and Dick Clark Productions now play dumb in their official statement: “Due to the live nature of the show we did not expect the impromptu moment in question,” they jointly declared after the edited West Coast version. There was no “impromptu moment” that was in question. It was the entire disgusting performance, approved and promoted by ABC and Dick Clark Productions.

CBS News jumped in to promote Lambert where ABC left off. How dumb did Adam Lambert think America was? Let’s survey his comical answers.

1. Did you have any idea your performance at the AMA’s would ignite this firestorm? Lambert said: “No clue. No clue at all.”

2. Did you plan those sexually charged moves in the rehearsal? Lambert: “Those kind of came from more of a impromptu place. No, those were not rehearsed.”

3. This was the best question from CBS interviewer Maggie Rodriguez: Now that you have had time to think about the children, your child fans, do you feel that you need to apologize to them? Lambert’s absolutely classic answer: “I think it’s up to the parents to – to discern what their child’s watching on television.”

4. Rodriguez followed up: “Well, but they had no idea they were about to see something like that on network TV.” That’s where Lambert started sounding like a lawyer: “Well, you know – and you know, just to play Devil’s advocate with you, Lady Gaga smashing whiskey bottles. Janet Jackson grabbing a male dancer’s crotch. Eminem talked about how Slim Shady has ‘17 rapes under his belt.’ There’s a lot of very adult material on the AMA’s this year and I know I wasn’t the only one. I’m not using that as an excuse and I don’t have any – I didn’t take any offense with those performers’ choices, I’m just saying I think it’s up to a parent to watch the television. It was almost 11:00 at night. If they’re concerned with certain material maybe TiVo it and preview it before you’re small child is watching it.”

Oh, shut up. Rodriguez summed up Lambert’s lack of regret:

5. So you don’t feel that it’s your responsibility to issue an apology? Lambert unfurled what could be a motto for the entertainment world in general: “I’m not a babysitter. I’m a performer.”

So we can blame Lambert, we can blame ABC, and for starting this all, we can blame Fox and “American Idol.” They took up Lambert and made him a gender-bending crusader for gay liberation in entertainment. Sexual politics trumped his screechy (and let’s face it, lack of) talent.

Lambert’s honesty about his absolute, leather-bound mission to offend came out at the CBS interview’s end. He was asked if he had to do it over again, what would he do differently? “I would sing it a little bit better.”

Bozell is completely confused if he thinks that Fox made Adam out to be some  crusader for gay liberation.  Where do these people come up with this garbage?  Adam is simply an entertainer who happens to be gay.  Other performers have done similar things on stage and no one accused them of being crusaders for heterosexual liberation. Regardless, it was inappropriate for prime time television whether it was straight, bi, or gay and unfortunate that this minor incident is taking away from the true talent that is Adam Lambert.

White House Party Crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi have Muslim ties
Nov 29th, 2009 by John Paulus

Tareq and Michaele Salahi meet the President

If you haven’t heard about Tareq Salahi and his wife Michaele Salahi, then you’ve been living under a rock or a victim of Obama’s economic plan and haven’t paid your cable bill.  At any rate, they are the couple that crashed the state dinner for the Indian Prime Minister.  At first, the White House claimed that the couple were never in the same room as the President and when pictures emerged showing the couple posing for pictures, the White House, as has been routine, backtracked their story.  Regardless, there’s something that doesn’t pass the smell test here.  I find it odd that the Secret Service would be that incompetent not to check to ensure that this couple was on the guest list.  Perhaps someone from the White House wanted this couple there, but didn’t want to have them listed on the guest list, because the list would be accessible to the public and the couple’s names would ring alarm bells.  Honestly, I don’t know what the truth is, but whatever it is it shows that this White House can’t even protect the security of the residence of the President.

The Secret Service is said to be interviewing the couple.  If they can’t get any information out of them, may I suggest waterboarding?

From Gateway Pundit:

American Power discovered this on the White House party crashers- They belong to a radical anti-Israeli group:

Tareq Salahi, the polo-playing intruder, is a Palestinian nationalist with ties to the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) , a pro-Palestine lobby demanding the “right of return” for all Palestinian refugees and their descendants. The “right of return” has long been considered the backdoor to Israel’s destruction. But not only that: ATFP President Ziad Asali is an America-basher who blamed 9/11 on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Asali was a lead U.S. official to PLO terrorist Yassir Arafat’s funeral in 2004. And in a position paper in 2007, the ATFP called for a power-sharing agreement at the Palestinian Authority, which would have included the State Department’s designated-terrorist group, Hamas.

And, there’s more…
Canada Free Press reported that the American Task Force for Palestine (ATFP) has airbrushed references to Salahi from its website:

We do know for a fact that among the slew of memberships on charitable boards, Tareq Salahi is a former member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). The only way to know for a fact is because even though ATFP scrubbed all references to Salahi as a board member, he can still be found on Google cache. (Canada Free Press)

Sad that White House Secret Service are looking like Keystone Kops in the aftermath of Obama’s very first state house dinner in the tent.

While the media is fixated on the hitch in Michaele Salahi’s git-along, there can be no doubt that these recently minted “party crashers” really get around.

American Power has more on the Salahi’s leadership role with the the American Task Force on Palestinian, the “moderate” rights groups pushing a thinly-veiled program of Palestinian nationalism and the “right of return” (the backdoor destruction of Israel).

According to Discover the Networks, ATFP’s former vice president is Rashid Khalidi, the Columbia University Middle East Studies professor and militant Palestinian rights activist. Khalidi cites the late Edward Said as his major influence, and according to the entry cited, “As with Said before him, Khalidi’s involvement with the Palestinian cause goes beyond mere support.” And, “Khalidi so strongly identified with the aims of the PLO, which was designated as a terrorist group by the State Department during Khalidi’s affiliation with it in the 1980s, that he repeatedly referred to himself as ‘we’ when expounding on the PLO’s agenda.” Also, according to Campus Watch, ATFP remains in full support Kahlidi, for example, during charges of academic misconduct in 2005, at the time of Senator Barack Obama’s meeting with Tareq Salahi. See, “ATFP EXPRESSES FULL SUPPORT FOR COLUMBIA PROFESSOR RASHID KHALIDI.

Note too that Obama’s ties to the Palestinian community became something of an issue during the 2008 campaign. See, the Los Angeles Times, “Allies of Palestinians See a Friend in Obama.” Plus, from Andrew C. McCarthy and Claudia Rosett, “In Obama’s Hyde Park, It’s All in the Family: Passing Anti-American Radicalism From Generation to Generation.

As you may recall. The LA Times hid the tape of Barack Obama attending a 2003 Jew-bash where he praised and toasted the former PLO operative Rashid Khalidi.

With Barack Obama, it’s always about the radicalism. Always.

It looks like the Salahi security breach is much more than just an “embarassment” for the Secret Service.

UPDATE: Bennet send this–

I noticed you posted about the Salahi’s crashing the party, but did not mention that–as Canada Free Press mentioned–Obama met them back in 2005. I assume you did that because CFP did not give proof for their claim that their picture together (along with the Black Eyed Peas) was from 2005 and not last year as the Polo Contacts website claims.

I searched for proof the picture was from 2005 without any luck–until I realized the proof is from the Polo site itself.
Right click on the image and save it: the current name of that file is: ROCKTHEVOTEJune82005014.jpg

Seems that reading The Da Vinci Code finally paid off.

This doesn’t prove Obama was as friendly with the Salahis as with the Khaladis, Saids, and the Ayers’–but it is still interesting to note

Rumors that Tiger Woods cheated on wife
Nov 29th, 2009 by John Paulus

Tiger Woods

When I first heard that Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident shortly after 2 in the morning I said to my mother, “sounds to me like he and his wife must have gotten into an argument”.  Rumors are still circulating and are being fueled by the Woods’ refusal to speak to police.  Here’s what we know from TMZ:

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren — according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.

Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol — that should happen this afternoon. But we’re told Tiger had a conversation Friday — with a non-law enforcement type — detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We’re told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We’re told Woods became “distracted,” thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We’re also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

I hate to think that Tiger cheated on his wife, but where there’s smoke there’s fire and the tabloids normally get these types of scandals right.

Mom and I on the steps of the Capitol Building. It was cold and windy!!!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving.  I know that my mother and I did.  It was so wonderful being able to see my mother surprise her family for the holidays.  It was truly one of the best gifts I could have ever given to my mother.  We truly enjoyed visiting with my niece and nephew, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents…  speaking of which– surprising my grandparents and spending time with them on Thanksgiving Day and again on Friday morning was, for me, the best of all.

Mom and I left Connecticut early Friday afternoon and I took a little side trip to surprise my mother with a quick visit to Washington DC.  It was cold!!!  We snapped a few pictures and took in the beauty of the city at night before making our way back home to North Carolina.  As wonderful as it was to visit, my mother and I agreed, North Carolina truly is our home and we love living here so much.  The people, the environment, the surroundings– everything is wonderful.  We just wish we could convince the rest of the family to move.  Maybe someday.

This morning, mom and I stopped by her house.  The yard was graded and ready for sod.  Appliances were installed, painting was complete… next week the floors get stained, the backsplash and lighting go up, and the landscaping gets started.

And as a side note, I read that Adam Lambert will debut at #2 with an impressive albums sales of over 250K– beating out Lady GaGa.  WOW!!!  Good for him.  I guess controversy sells, and those writing him off were a little premature in their predictions.  Congratulations Adam!!!

In Connecticut for Thanksgiving
Nov 25th, 2009 by John Paulus

Mom

Sometimes celebrity's get special treatment.

Sometimes celebrity's get special treatment.

Well, as many of you have learned Mom and I are in Connecticut.  About two months ago I suggested to my mother that she and I go to Connecticut to spend Thanksgiving with the rest of the family.

It was tradition for many years to spend Thanksgiving Day at my aunt’s, my mother’s younger sister.  For the first time in 7 seven years my mother will be having Thanksgiving with her sisters.  It’s also been over two years since my mother’s had an opportunity to visit them.  I thought it would nice to drive my mother to Connecticut so that she could surprise her sister’s and my brother and his family-  and were they ever shocked.  Mom shed some tears of joy and her grandson was excited.  Of course, this is also the first time she’s seen her granddaughter who’s now two months old.

Tomorrow will be a huge day with over 50 family members.  I’m glad that I was able to treat my mother to a very special Thanksgiving Day.

I’ve arrived and Clay Aiken must have called Diane Sawyer
Nov 24th, 2009 by John Paulus

George Washington Bridge location

I have safely arrived!  And it was a long ride.  Especially with an ear infection.

During my trip, I received the following message from my connection at the SDNN:

Hey John,

San Diego News Network has two articles up about San Diego’s own Adam Lambert. The first is a look at what happened at the AMAs from a local perspective, and the second is a review of his new CD from 3 opera experts.

http://www.sdnn.com/sandiego/2009-11-24/ap-stories/abcs-good-morning-america-cancels-adam-lambert-appearance#ixzz0XoJnPYnL

Hope your readers enjoy,

*******

Well you can imagine my shock.  I was distraught until 12:00, when Rush was able to really put in perspective everything that’s really important. I’m sure that Clay Aiken called his buddy Diane Sawyer to get Adam cancelled.  I’m confident he had something to do with this!!!  It reeks of something he would do.
