Is it amazing to anyone else how the Democrats entire agenda is quickly unraveling? With a complicit media, let me be the first to admit, even I didn’t think their antics would so quickly be exposed. Take for instance global warming; the American people have wised up to the fact that this is nothing more than a scheme to take more of their money. As world leaders meet in Copenhagen to discuss global warming, the city is being pounded with a blizzard. Al Gore’s “facts” are now being questioned by a doubtful audience and he continues to repeat these “facts” even after he’s been made aware that they are wrong. Let’s be honest, this has never been about the environment for these people, it was simply a machination to scare people and redistribute their wealth.
Then there’s the health-care bill which has now been put off until after Christmas. Unions are threatening to pull back support of the bill if it doesn’t include a public option (the thinking person should ask him/herself, if the goal is to insure everyone why would it matter whether it was a public or private insurance). The Cancer Society is upset over annual limits on benefits to cancer patients that’s included in the Senate bill. Some Democrats are threatening to vote no if the bill funds abortions while others threaten to vote no if it doesn’t. The elderly are upset over cuts in Medicare that some Democrats claim are necessary in order to make the health-care bill deficit neutral. To sum it up, the bill is a complete mess and a clear majority of the American people are opposed to the health-care bill.
And let’s not forget about the deficit, yes the deficit. There are two types of deficits; ones that can be managed and runaway deficits– Democrats have introduced us to the later and the American people are steaming mad. And what are Obama and the Democrats doing to get the deficit under contr0l– they increased spending by 10% in the latest spending bill. Let’s not forget that the last two budgets set to Bush to sign were Democrat spending bills. Spending and the deficit are getting so out of control that former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has spoken up warning of the threats to all this increase in spending and borrowing. Last month inflation jumped- a sign of things to expect. And we all know the evils of inflation– things cost more and your money is worth less.
The deficit isn’t the only thing rising, so are jobless claims. Typically, jobless claims will fall during the holiday as retail outlets and shippers hire season workers– this is not the case this year which makes fears of a jump in unemployment warranted. With a cost of over $200,000 per “newly created or saved job” and unemployment above 10%, the Democrat’s stimulus bill did nothing to stimulate the economy. In fact, many economist believe that it deepened and extended the recession. European governments rejected a US style stimulus bill and are emerging out of their recession faster. Reagan proved that permanent tax cuts work as it puts more money into the pockets of those who can infuse it into the economy more efficiently than the government, but don’t tell that to a liberal looking to control more of your life by taking more of what you earn.
It these problems and others that caused Massachusetts Democrat Michael Capuano, fresh from a second-place finish in the primary for Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat, to respond when aksed by the Democratic caucus what he had learned on the campaign trail, “You’re screwed.”
