Biden in trouble, Empty seats for Obama, New polling, America slips

Did you read the news today?  Joe Biden had a momentary experience with the truth when he admitted this: former President George W. Bush deserves “a lot of credit” for his handling of the initial Iraq war drawdown.

Speaking to Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert, Biden was asked if Bush deserved credit for the drawdown.  ”Mr. President, thank you,” said Biden, addressing a hypothetical Bush. “I’ve known you for all eight years of your presidency, and I’ve never known a time when you didn’t care. You deserve a lot of credit.” And it got better.  ”We haven’t said we’ve won it. There are 50,000 troops still there, and until we keep President Bush’s commitment to get the guys out by next year, we haven’t won it.”

Biden was referring to an agreement signed by then-President Bush in 2008 citing the “aspirational goal” of having all U.S. troops out of the country by 2011, provided certain security terms were met.  We can expect Obama to break out Al Gores lock box and putting Biden in there when he returns.

Also in the news today, Cleveland.com reported that there were 75 empty seats prior to the start of Obama speech in Parma, Ohio so organizers ran around campus trying to recruit students to fill the empty seats.  Looks like even the students are growing tired of hearing Obama read his lies from the teleprompter.

The latest Rasmussen Poll has Obama’s approval rating sinking 41% with 58% disapproval.  The Quinnipiac Poll has Republicans leading Democrats by 5% in the generic ballot.  In West Virginia, Democrat Joe Manchin was expected to runaway with the Special Senate election.  Early polls had him leading Republican John Raese by a whopping 16%.  That lead has now shrunk to just 5%.  And in Florida, Tea Party candidate continues to build support and now significantly leads Independent Governor Christ and Democrat Representative Meek.

Not all the numbers are good today.  The United States has slipped to number 4 from number 2 for top competitive economies.  Switzerland, Sweden, and Singapore now beat the United States-  this is change we can believe in, right?
