John Paulus- my opinion

A report by the Census is said to reveal some grim news about poverty.  Under Obama, US poverty will have reached a record level.  Is this surprising?  Maybe to those who voted for Obama they are.

Let’s face it, those who voted for Obama voted for a man that could deliver a good speech from a teleprompter and who could obfuscate the truth with ease.  They voted for a man who lacked experience… a man who lacks a clear understanding of the inherent greatness of the United States.

Under reported are the increases in bankruptcies, the plummenting of American wealth, the record number of homeless… this is the change that this man has brought us.

Obama’s answer; blame Republicans.  In his press conference, the president blamed Republicans in Congress for delaying programs that he claims will stimulate the economy.  He failed to mention that a growing number of Democrats are also opposed to his plans.

In a brief moment of truthfulness, the president acknowledged correctly that the Democrats control both Houses of Congress, but ignored the fact that Democrats were able to push through a number of spending bills without Republican support.  This included; the Omnibus Bill, the Stimulus Bill, the Health-care Bill and a number of other spending packages.  Why then is he unable to pass his so-called new jobs Bill?

Predictably, the president is reverting back to his strategy of blaming Republicans for his failure of leadership, lack of understanding of the economy, and a divided Democrat Congress.

A recent gathering of America’s richest individuals discussed the future predictions for our economy and the consesus was grim; continued stagnant growth.  Reason; companies are refusing to hire new workers because of the uncertainty that the impact of health-care will have and the expiring Bush tax cuts.

Obama and the Democrats have a habit of making the rich the evil doers of our country, however, it’s the rich who hire workers.  It’s the rich and their wealth that fund innovation and grow jobs.  It’s the rich that create wealth for the individual.

How many millionaires have Steve Jobs and Bill Gates created and how much have they contributed to our economy?  Juxtapose that with Obama and the Democrats who believe in increasing taxes on men and women like Jobs and Gates and redistributing their wealth as their solution to solve unemployment.

It’s often asked, how many people does a poor person employ or how many jobs does a poor person create?  The correct answer was once clear; none. However, under liberal leadership, that’s changed.  A poor person can create a number of government jobs- government workers to distribute welfare checks, food stamps, unemployment checks,  find government subsidized housing… you get the point.

America can only get itself back on track when we stop penalizing success and rewarding failure.  The fabric of America is to provide a person a hand up and not a premanant hand out- it’s to provide them with the tools and education to succeed. It is not to demonize those who have worked hard and have been successful nor is it to make them our enemy- the successful are our partners in building a better economy- a better country.
