Book time, Salt war, Reid’s SUV, Bank Charges

–Most presidents wait until they leave office before writing a book.  After all, as the leader of the free world and an economy in collapse, who has time.  Well, in between weeks of vacation and teeing off on the golf course, Barack Obama has managed to pen a book; “Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters.”

The cover features the Obama daughters– the same daughters he has declared off limits and who he promised after the exploitation in Vanity Fair magazine to not to again… Well, this is Obama, no promise is to sacred to keep.

–Meanwhile, Michelle Antoinette is on another crusade… no, no, no not on inner-city violence, not on teen pregnancy, not on high drop-out rates in school… this time the enemy is; SALT. It’s all in an effort to get America to eat and live healthier.  No word on how she is progressing with the President and his smoking habit.

–Harry Reid epitomize the absolute face of hypocrisy when he rolled up to a Clean Energy Summit in a fleet of SUV’s.  ”I was absolutely astonished, not to mention appalled, that Harry Reid would retain a fleet of gas-guzzling SUVs so that he and a few aides would not have to walk the mere 100 yards to address environmental activists,” said Heartland Institute Senior Fellow James M. Taylor “If greenhouse gas emissions are such a problem, you would think Reid might have actually made the short stroll through the parking lot, or at least retain Priuses rather than large SUVs for the summit,” said Taylor.

–Another I told you so moment, this time as a result of the Bank Reform Bill passed by Democrats. Bank of America will charge clients new monthly fees if their accounts do not meet a minimum balance, the bank’s CEO Brian Moynihan said on Tuesday.
“We will increase the account balance minimums or charge monthly fees in lieu thereof, which is the choice of the customer,” Moynihan said at a Barclays Capital conference in New York.

These and other measures will allow the bank to compensate for revenue lost due to new regulations put in place following the 2008 financial crisis that led the US government to salvage many bank with massive bailouts, he said.

“Over the next 12 months, we will reset the entire product line.” Bank of America has recently introduced a new account, called e-account, offering reduced fees for customers using automated services, while reducing the number of branches and staff in a bid to cut down costs, he added.
