Some disillusioned Democrats are calling the come from behind victory of Christine O’Donnell over Mike Castle in the Republican Primary a victory– they’re wrong. This was a defeat of the establishment. Despite vicious attacks, limited campaign cash, and overwhelming odds, Christine O’Donnell won handedly over her Party’s back candidate.
Across the country voters are revolting. They are tired of career politicians and party backed candidates putting their needs ahead of the country. Last night was another sign of an engaged electorate sending a message to Washington- you answer to us and not your party.
Democrats are celebrating the primary victory of O’Donnell believing that they are now guaranteed to hold onto the Senate seat in Delaware. Similarly, in earlier primaries they were exuberant over the nomination of Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Bob Portman, and Pat Toomey- all have significant leads. In Nevada, despite millions of dollars in attack ads by DNC, unions, George Soros groups, and the Democrat Senatorial Committee, Harry Reid and Sharron Angle are virtually tied. In liberal Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal has a slight lead over Linda McMahon.
America wants its elected officials to be responsible to the people and not the establishment. They are tired of being lied to about Health-care. They are tired of the rising deficit. They are tired of rising taxes. They are tired of the corruption. They are tired of government waste. They are tired of mishandling of taxpayer money. They are tired of politicians who break promises. Americans want their country back and last nights election sent another clear sign to Washington’s elite; you are not in charge.
