With a record number of Americans unemployed, Michelle Obama has some words about her job as First Lady; “It’s hell, I can’t stand it”. The First Lady was quoted in a new biography by French First Lady, Carla Bruni.
Bad relationships between the power couples have been evident for some time. In June of last year, the Obama’s declined to have dinner with the French First couple despite spending the night right next door from them. Since becoming President, Obama has managed to offend the British, French, Polish, Czechs, Belgians, Canadians, Australians, Germans, Dutch, and Israelis.
Michelle Obama may not have fret too much longer over hating her job as First Lady (we know it must be terrible difficult to host parties, decorate the White House, and travel all over the world). News out today shows that 1 out of 7 Americans now live in poverty- the highest level since the 1960′s. US foreclosures rose in August as banks took possession of home at a record pace. Repossessions also hit a record pace. The latest data provides further evidence for critics who opposed Obama’s Stimulus Bill and Government Programs that Obama claimed would save homes.
Speaking of failed programs, Connecticut health insurers are requesting the state allow them to increase health-insurance premiums by 20% cited the recently passed health-care bill. Again, opponents of the Health-care Bill made clear that the bill would increase premiums and would reduce benefits. Their fears appear to be coming to fruition already.
The health-care Bill is causing some problems for Democrats despite being reassured by Obama that passing health-care was a winning campaign issue. So far, Democrats are spending 3 times as much money running anti health-care reform ads than are running pro health-care. Some House Democrats feel they were lied to by the President and Speaker of the House (They can join the millions of Americans who feel the same way).
Divisions are beginning to rear their ugly head within the Democrat Party? Yes, the question mark is intentional. I’ll explain in a bit. Democratic District 6 Congressional candidate Brett Carter is asking House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to step aside for the good of Democratic candidates. He claims that he would not cast his vote for her. Also, thirty-one House Democrats, most of whom face tough re-election bids this fall, have signed a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer urging them to extend expiring tax breaks for all income levels, including the wealthy. Do I believe these divisions? Not really. Back in 2006, Pelosi put out word to Democrats running in conservative districts that they could run against her and the liberal agenda if it guaranteed them a win. Once elected, most supported the progressive liberal agenda.
Well, that the afternoon news… Michelle hates her job, people are losing their homes, poverty hits a record, health-care cost skyrocketing, and Democrats masquerading as something their not.
