In the news today:
– Sami Samir Hassoun, a 22 year old Lebanese citizen angry with the city’s mayor was charged by federal prosecutors with plotting to detonate a bomb near Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball team. Hassoun, who also discussed an assassination attempt on Mayor Richard M. Daley according to prosecutors, was arrested yesterday by members of the Chicago-area Joint Terrorism Task Force.
– Joe “Bite me” Biden further confirmed today why he’s the most incompetent vice president this century said, “I’m second in line to be President”. No word on whether the Obama administration has demoted him or changed the Constitution.
– The UK’s tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer. We can imagine that the Obama administration would be thrilled with such a system here.
– “I’m one of your middle class Americans. And quite frankly I’m exhausted. I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right now,” said an audience member at a town hall meeting to President Obama.
– Blame it on the teleprompter, but speaking before the Congressional Hispanic Caucus during the weekend, President Barack Obama referenced an oft repeated pillar of the Declaration: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable Rights …” Of course he skipped the part that reads, “by their Creator”. Hmmm….
