Obama’s promises, promises. President is AWOL. Lower standards for Blacks

– Promises for open debate on health-care reform.  Promises of transparency and open government.  Promises not to meet with lobbyist.  All have been broken by Obama and his liberal administration. Republican congressional investigators got the “screw you” this past week after pressing for details of meetings between White House officials and interest groups, including drug companies, hospitals, and lobbyist that provided critical backing for Obama’s health insurance expansion.

White House lawyer Robert Bauer wrote the committee, “complying with the records request from the House Energy and Commerce Committee “would constitute a vast and expensive undertaking” and could “implicate longstanding executive branch confidentiality interests.” Hmmm… Obama didn’t accept this line of refusal when the Bush White House would not reveal the dealings between Vice President Dick Cheney’s energy task force and industry. More lies, more broken promises. Is a wonder that Obama said last week that it would be much easier being President of China- a country where you don’t have to answer to the people. Perhaps, he should be a presidential candidate in China in 2012.

– Questions are being raised whether Obama is involved in the budget process and if so, how serious is he. Earlier in the month, Obama dispatched his gaffe-proned Vice President to help negotiate a budget between Republican and Democrats. Biden showed up for one meeting and then left the country. Appearing on CNN, Senator Durbin (D) was asked about Obama’s involvement to which he replied, “The president is working behind the scenes. There’s a perception and frustration among members of Congress that things aren’t moving to a conclusion.” In other words, the President is busy organizing White House parties and playing golf. Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R) countered, “he may have been talking to Senator Durbin and other Democrats, but he has not been talking to Republicans,”

– This is a story that may get you a bit worked up. The Dayton Police Department is lowering its testing standards for recruits. Obama’s U.S. Department of Justice required the move after it said not enough Blacks passed the exam. Despite high unemployment in the state, hiring was postponed for months because the D.O.J. rejected the original scores that were provided by the Dayton Civil Service Board.

Under the previous requirements, candidates had to get a 66% on part one of the exam and a 72% on part two. However, to hire more Blacks scores had to be lowered and approved by Obama’s Justice Department. The new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That’s the equivalent of an ‘F’ and a ‘D’.

Surprisingly, the typical sycophant supporters of Obama did not support this move. “It becomes a safety issue for the people of our community,” said Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President, Randy Beane. “It becomes a safety issue to have an incompetent officer next to you in a life and death situation.” “The NAACP does not support individuals failing a test and then having the opportunity to be gainfully employed,” agreed Dayton NAACP President Derrick Foward. The D.O.J. has forced other police departments across the country to lower testing standards, citing once again that not enough black candidates were passing. The Dayton Firefighter recruit exam is coming up this summer. The chief said it’s likely the passing score for that test will be lowered as well.
