Just a quick update for today’s morning headlines;
1. Letters, reported to have been sent from Al Qaeda, claim there are 160 nuclear bombs planted throughout the United States. Twenty-five letters have been sent to private citizens revealing the alleged threat. You can read more here.
2. Obama hits a new low in new poll. 50% of the registered voters surveyed for the poll think that the president does not deserve a second term in office, while 41 percent say he does. The decline in support for a second Obama term comes as his approval rating has dropped 4 percentage points since early March, landing at 42 percent – a record low – in the poll released Wednesday. His disapproval rating has risen from 46 percent to 48 percent. Can we hope for a one-term presidency?
3. Speaking of polls this morning, there’s a new Pew Poll out that claims 43% of Americans don’t know Obama’s religion. Nearly 20% identified Obama’s religion as Muslim, while only 34% were able to correctly identify his religion- that’s down from 48% just 2 years ago.
4. Just a day after Obama’s implied, “Mission Accomplished” speech, Gaddafi forces have pushed back rebels. In a speech Monday night, the President claimed the purpose for the war operation in Libya was to stop innocent civilians from being slaughtered, however, reports are that coalition forces under the leadership of the United States have been targeting Libyan forces engaged in battle with retreating rebels. This runs counter to the President’s claim that the mission’s purpose is not regime change.
