$1 of every $10 goes to gas

Do you recall one of my liberal readers of my blog wrote, “Stop complaining, John, if you can afford to drive a BMW you can afford gas”.  Of course, you’d expect such a response from an ignorant liberal.

I’m fairly confident that that liberal still reads my blog and has probably felt the impact of rising fuel prices either directly or indirectly.

The AP writes:

High prices at the pump are putting a squeeze on the family budget as the traditional summer driving season begins. For every $10 the typical household earns before taxes, almost a full dollar now goes toward gas, a 40 percent bigger bite than normal.

Households spent an average of $369 on gas last month. In April 2009, they spent just $201. Families now spend more filling up than they spend on cars, clothes or recreation. Last year, they spent less on gasoline than each of those things.

There are some liberals who are circling to protect Obama from any criticism.  Some ask, “what do you Obama to do about it.  It’s not his fault”.  Of course these same liberals were blaming Bush when gas prices were 50% lower.

In an act of desperation Obama froze all offshore drilling in the gulf.  This had an immediate affect and drove up fuel prices quickly.  Obama further decided that he needed to support the bombing of Libya causing more instability.

To the liberal who wan’t concerned about the rising fuel cost, I wonder how she feels learning that 10% of a family’s budget goes to fueling their vehicle.
