An energized and enthusiastic Republican Party turned out to cast their votes in the first in the South Primary in South Carolina.  A record 601,166 voted Saturday, far exceeding the 2008 primary of 445,499- And when all the votes were counted, South Carolina overwhelmingly choose Newt Gingrich as their choice to face Barack  Obama in the general election having garnered nearly 41% of the vote.

Newt Gingrich’s win comes on the heels of his debate performances in South Carolina where he was able to best articulate conservative principles and policies in a way that was clear and resonated with the voter.  Exit polling showed that Newt Gingrich overwhelmingly won the conservative vote, the women’s vote, the evangelical Christians, and the vote of blue collar workers- this should give pause to the Obama Administration.

Many, including myself, thought that Gingrich past infidelities would not play well with the evangelical right- Political pundits and I were wrong.  Clearly, the Christian right have forgiven Gingrich and believe in his redemption.  Conservatives have made it clear that a candidates private life should not disqualify him or her for office.  In 1992, Democrats came to that conclusion when they nominate Bill Clinton.

Whether Gingrich goes on to win the Republican nomination is still to be determined, but regardless the outcome, Gingrich is a powerful voice and someone who is most capable of articulating conservatism.  Bill Clinton once quipped that Newt was the only person who could out politic him.  It’s understandable why the Democrats woke up today and little more worried.

In the news…

1.  The hypocrisy continues with this administration and the Democrat Party…  Jeffrey Zients will serve as President Obama’s new acting director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).  Zients and Romney are both alumni of Bain & Company and that connection may undercut Obama’s attacks on his potential Republican rival.

2.  The race war is being revved up by the left in order to get blacks to the polls in November.  For example, MSNBC guest Joy-Ann Reid, who writes for NBCUniversal-owned website theGrio.com, suggested that Mitt Romney was racist for helping a struggling African American woman he met while on the campaign-trail by giving her money from his own wallet. ”It galls me,” Reid started. “I don’t even like to watch it. I felt like it plays into every sort of patronizing stereotype of black people. Oh, here’s this little lady, let me give her 50 bucks.”

3.  House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday launched political grenades at Mitt Romney, arguing that Republicans haven’t coalesced behind the GOP frontrunner because they don’t believe he can beat President Barack Obama in November.  That’s interesting… Perhaps, the Minority Leader forgot the 2008 Democrat Primary in which Hillary Clinton did not concede until June 7th- nearly 5 months from where we are today.  In fact, on the heels of his caucus win in Iowa, Obama lost to Hillary in New Hampshire. Obama only garnered 36% of the vote compared to Mitt Romney who won 39% in New Hampshire.  To make matters worse, Obama wasn’t qualified to participate in the Michigan Primary and lost the Florida Primary by 17 points managing to only get 33% of the vote.

It’s obvious that Pelosi and nimble minded liberal like her would forget the results of their own primary… or do they think that we are so ignorant not to recognize that this is a failed attempt to make Mitt Romney appear to be a weak candidate.  Either way, it’s a failure on her/their part.

On this day we remember a great Republican, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. Why? It was the Democrats who Dr. King was fighting, and he would not have joined the Democratic Party, the party of segregation and the Ku Klux Klan. To understand why MLK was a Republican, let’s take a walk through history.

History of civil rights – In a nutshell

• The Republican Party – From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks.
• The Democratic Party – As author Michael Scheuer stated, the Democratic Party is the party of the four S’s: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

Slavery – Democrats fought to expand it, Republicans fought to ban it

Democrats formed the Confederacy, seceded from the Union and fought a Civil War (1861 to 1865) – a war where over 600,000 citizens were killed, including many thousands of blacks – in order to keep blacks in slavery because the Democrats had built their economic base on the backs of black slaves.

Democrats enacted Fugitive Slave laws to keep blacks from escaping from plantations and instigated the 1856 Dred Scott decision which legally classified blacks as property. Democrats pushed to pass the Missouri Compromise to spread slavery into 50% of the new states. Democrats also pushed to achieve passage of the Kansas-Nebraska Act that was designed to spread slavery into all of the new states.

Northern anti-Civil War Democrats, called “copperheads”, did not want to be drafted to fight in the Civil War. Starting in 1861, they attacked blacks in virtually every Northern city and pushed for a negotiated peace that would have resulted in an independent Confederacy where blacks were kept in slavery. In New York, anti-Civil War Democrats engaged in “Four Days of Terror” against the city’s black population from July 13-16, 1863.

The anti-Civil War chant of the Democrats, as reported by one Pennsylvania newspaper, was: “Willing to fight for Uncle Sam”, but not “for Uncle Sambo.” These anti-Civil War Democrats verbally attacked Republican President Abraham Lincoln because he fought to free blacks from slavery and make his Emancipation Proclamation a reality – a Proclamation that became the source of the June tenth celebrations that occur in black communities today.

The Party of Lincoln

The Republican Party was started in 1854 as the anti-slavery party by abolitionists opposed to keeping blacks in human bondage, and Republicans, under the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln, fought to free blacks from slavery.

After the Civil War, Republicans amended the US Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860′s, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks. In the book “The Political Lincoln: An Encyclopedia” Professors Paul Finkleman and Martin J. Hershock debunk the absurd myth that President Lincoln was somehow a “racist” because of his measured approach to ending slavery in the rebelling South first, while waging a war to end all slavery nationwide.

If the Democrats had left blacks alone at this moment in history, our nation would not be faced with racial divisiveness today. Instead, Democrats set for themselves the horrendous task of keeping blacks in virtual slavery.

Reconstruction – Democrats fought to end Reconstruction started by Republicans

Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan in 1866 to lynch and terrorize Republicans -black and white and drive Republicans out of the South.

In the book “A Short History of Reconstruction”, renowned historian, Dr. Eric Foner, revealed that the Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1866 by Democrats as a Tennessee social club. The Ku Klux Klan became a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party, the planter class, and all those who desired the restoration of white supremacy. The Klan spread into other Southern states, launching a ‘reign of terror‘ against Republican leaders, black and white.

The Hayes-Tilden Compromise of 1877 was an attempt by Republicans to end the presidential election stalemate, as well as get the Democrats to stop the lynchings and respect the rights of blacks. Contrary to popular belief, President Rutherford Hayes did not remove the last federal troops from the South, but merely ordered federal troops surrounding the South Carolina and Louisiana statehouses to return to their barracks.

Segregation – Democrats enacted the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws

Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every piece of civil rights legislation from the 1860’s to the 1960′s.

Democrats wanted to keep blacks in virtual slavery and deny blacks the promised “40 acres and a mule”.

After they took control of Congress in 1892, Democrats passed the Repeal Act of 1894 that overturned civil rights legislation passed by the Republicans, including the Civil Rights Acts of 1866 and 1875. It took Republicans nearly six decades to finally achieve passage of civil rights legislation in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

It defies logic for Democrats today to claim that the racist Democrats suddenly joined the Republican Party after Republicans finally won the civil rights battle against the racist Democrats. In fact, the racist Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than vote for a Republican, because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks.

The Republicans started the NAACP in 1909 on Abraham Lincoln’s 100th birthday to counter the racist practices of the Democrats. The first black American to head the NAACP was Republican James Weldon Johnson who wrote the lyrics to “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, the inspirational song that is considered to be the Black National Anthem.

Few blacks know that Republicans also started the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s).

The Modern Civil Rights Era- Democrats fought against civil rights in the 1950’s and 1960’s

Democrat Public Safety Commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor in Birmingham let loose vicious dogs and turned skin-burning fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators.

Democrat Georgia Governor Lester Maddox famously brandished ax handles to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant. In 1954, Democrat Arkansas Governor Orville Faubus tried to prevent desegregation of a Little Rock public school.

Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace stood in front of the Alabama schoolhouse in 1963 and thundered, “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”

All of these racist Democrats remained Democrats until the day they died.

Republicans championed civil rights in the 1950’s and 1960’s

Republican President Dwight Eisenhower pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court which resulted in the famous 1954 “Brown v. Topeka Board of Education” decision that ended school segregation and the “separate but equal” doctrine created by the 1896 “Plessy v. Ferguson” decision.

Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman’s issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military. In 1958, Eisenhower established a permanent Civil Rights Commission that had been rejected by prior Democrat presidents, including President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Ignored today is the fact that it was Roosevelt who started blacks on the path to dependency on government handouts during the Great Depression with his “New Deal” that turned out to be a bad deal for blacks. Even though Roosevelt received the vote of many blacks, Roosevelt banned black American newspapers from the military because he was convinced the newspapers were communists.

Little known by many today is the fact that it was Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois, not Democrat President Lyndon Johnson, who pushed through the 1964 Civil Rights Act. In fact, Dirksen was instrumental to the passage of civil rights legislation in 1957, 1960, 1964, 1965 and 1968. Dirksen wrote the language for the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Dirksen also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. hailed Senator Dirksen’s “able and courageous leadership” and “The Chicago Defender,” the largest black-owned daily at that time, praised Senator Dirksen “for the grand manner of his generalship behind the passage of the best civil rights measures that have ever been enacted into law since Reconstruction.”

Democrats today ignore the pivotal role played by Senator Dirksen in obtaining passage of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act, while heralding President Johnson as a civil rights advocate for signing the bill. The chief opponents of the 1964 Civil Rights Act were Democrat Senators Sam Ervin, Albert Gore, Sr. and Robert Byrd who filibustered against the bill for 14 straight hours before the final vote.

President Lyndon Johnson could not have achieved passage of the civil rights legislation without the support of Republicans.

And there you have the real history of the civil rights movement.

The Labor Department said Friday that employers added a net 200,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate fell to 8.5 percent, the lowest since February 2009. The rate has dropped for four straight months.

Earlier in the Summer, President Obama had pushed Congress to pass his spending job’s bill which saw his own party stall it’s passage in the Senate.  Republicans and others said Obama’s “jobs” bill was nothing more than a political gimmick designed to help Obama’s re-election efforts.  Clearly, the economy is improving without more of Obama’s gimmicks and reckless spending.

Since Republicans took control in the House of Representatives, the economy added 1.6 million jobs, better than the 940,000 added in 2010 under Democrat control. The unemployment rate averaged 8.9 percent last year, down from 9.6 percent the previous year.

For those who were asking early last year after Republicans took control of the House, “Where are the jobs, Republicans”, their answer is 1.6 million.  Imagine how many more the economy would have with a Republican Senate and a President who really wants to see the country succeed.

Happy New Year to everyone.  I wish all of you a very healthy and prosperous New Year.  These are my top ten prediction for 2012.

1.  Mitt Romney will win the Republican nomination for President.

2.  After a very bitter and nasty campaign, Barack Obama will not win re-election.

3.  Democrats will lose the Senate and gain some seats in the House of Representatives; however, they will fall short, giving Republicans control of Congress.

4.  The Supreme Court will find Obamacare unconstitutional.

5.  Riots will strike out across cities in the United States starting in the Spring.

6.  Gas prices will hit an average of $4 a gallon this Summer.

7.  Inflation will rise to the highest level in three decades.

8.  Liberals will lose control in many European countries giving way to more fiscally conservative governments that will cut social spending and help bring Europe back from the brink.

9.  Israel will be forced to take action against Iran in order to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.

10. Cuba will begin the transition away from Socialism and work toward improving relations with the United States.

In the news today…

-  It must take a non-thinking individual to believe some of the stuff that comes out of the mouth of liberals.  Obama and the Democrats want you to believe that Republicans support killing women, starving children, and forcing the elderly to choose between food and drugs.  Let’s think about this, don’t Republicans have children?  Aren’t there female Republicans?  Aren’t there Republicans who are elderly or those who have elderly parents?  Out on the campaign trail, Obama claimed that Republicans want dirtier water, dirty air, and… well, it’s the same liberal lies and scare tactics.

- Aside from Obama and a majority of Democrats, Occupy Wall Street gathered additional support from the likes of the Chinese Government, the Communist Party, Socialist Party of America, and the Nazi Party.  Occupy Wall Street is also supported by the AFL-CIO, SEIU, Al Gore, Van Jones, and most left wing special interest groups.

-  You can’t wear flag pins, you can’t celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas, and in some schools you can’t recite the pledge of allegiance… well, that’s unless it’s the Mexican pledge of allegiance.  As part of what teacher Reyna Santos claimed was Spanish class assignment, students were required to sing the Mexican National Anthem and recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance

-  In the latest Rasmussen Poll, Republican candidate Herman Cain edges out Obama 43% to 41%.  Desperate liberals are working hard to de-legitimize Herman Cain claiming that he’s not Black and leading the charge was CNN’s Martin Bashir who continued to attack Cain on Monday accusing the Republican presidential candidate of skipping the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Monument in Washington, D.C., Saturday because he “really doesn’t want to be overtly associated with African-Americans”.

In the news today…

-  You know we are heading into the political season and that Democrats are in trouble.  We have Obama once again playing the race card.  We have Nancy Pelosi who starting with the rhetoric that Republicans want women to die.  And you have other liberals who are claiming that Republicans want old people to die and children to starve.  It grows so old.

-  In the latest Rasmussen Poll, Newt Gingrich has moved into third place with Herman Cain and Mitt Romney tied for first.  Newt may be the sleeper candidate as Republicans look for a solid Conservative.

-  Senate Republicans introduced the “Jobs Through Growth Act” Thursday aimed at creating jobs by overhauling the nation’s tax laws, cutting business rules and boosting offshore oil exploration.  The GOP bill  doesn’t include a single item in President Barack Obama’s jobs legislation, which failed in a Senate vote on Tuesday.

- Democrat turned Socialist, Al Gore threw his support behind the Occupy Wall Street protests Wednesday night, arguing that the country’s elected officials have failed the public on everything “from the economy to the climate crisis.”Gore, a vocal advocate of policies to address climate change, called the protests — which have spread around the country — a “true grassroots movement.”

In previous blogs I made note of how liberals fear Black Republicans.  Blacks moving to the Republican Party would destroy a base of support that liberals need to further push through their socialized programs. Too many Black Republicans winning national elections would expose the myth liberals have been so successful in propagandizing, that Republicans are anti-black.

In order to keep that myth alive, liberals will do everything in their power to destroy and marginalize Black Republicans.  They will use liberal Blacks in Congress and at various organizations to attack these black Republicans. They will create controversy and scandal where there was none- Judge Clarence Thomas nomination ring a bell.  Liberals fear what Black Republicans stand for- self-reliance, self-determination, and independence.

In previous months Herman Cain was not a threat to liberals, but as more and more polls confirm that he is now a top tier candidate with a high probability of being the Republican nominee, liberals have redirected their attention and attacks.

During the 1992 campaign, Democrats argued that Bill Clinton’s lack of military service should not prevent him from becoming the next Commander-in-Chief.  Even after it was revealed that Clinton dodged the Vietnam with the help of family and friends with political influence, Democrats insisted that military service should not be a prerequisite to be President.  Knowing this, one would find it odd that Herman Cain would be attacked by liberals who are offended that he did not serve in Vietnam.  In fact, Herman Cain made himself available for the draft and was serving his country working for the Department of the Navy in a critical role called exterior ballistic analysis.  Now some of you may be wondering how Herman Cain can be attacked by liberals for not serving in military uniform while the currently we have a liberal President who served as a community agitator organizer.  Look no further than Herman Cain’s political affiliation.  To liberals, he is the wrong type of black.

Liberals are attacking Herman Cain claiming he lacks experience.  That might sound rather amusing when you consider that the current liberal President’s resume includes 3 years as a community agitator organizer, time as “a civil rights attorney” and “professor”, an Illinois State Senator where he was known for voting present, and 4 years as a Senator- 2 of which he ran for President.  Juxtapose that “experience” to Herman Cain who worked at Department of the Navy as an analyst,  at Coca-Cola Company  as a computer systems analyst. for Pillsbury sd the director of analysis, managed 400 Burger King stores in the Philadelphia area where his region went in three years from the least profitable for Burger King to the most profitable CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, Purchase Godfather’s Pizza with a group of investors, became CEO of the National Restaurant Association, became a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1992 and then its chairman, and sat on the board of directors for Nabisco, Whirlpool, Reader’s Digest, and AGCO, Inc. In an economy struggling, one wonders how liberals could ignore Cain’s business acumen and experience.  Wonder no more- Herman Cain is a Black Republican.

So how else could liberals attack Herman Cain?  Well, attack him for what they feel is his lack of involvement during the civil rights movement.  After all, what makes an experience President is one who served as a community organizer and “civil rights” attorney.

As Herman Cain continues to earn success within the Republican Party, expect the attacks on his character and even on the color of his skin to intensify- and if you’re wondering why liberals can call anyone who attacks Obama on the issues a racist, while they themselves can attack Herman Cain on a personal level just remember that Herman Cain isn’t the right type of Black guy.

In the news today…

It’s the Obama Justice Department led by the incompetent Attorney General Eric Holder in the news again today.  If the stories about $16 muffins and the scandal surrounding Fast & Furious weren’t enough now we have the story of Darryl Foster, a supervisor for the Civil Rights Division, who misused taxpayer funds to “facilitate a physical relationship with a woman in Florida.”Expenses for trips were paid for by taxpayers even on days he was not working and the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) found that Mr. Foster began extending his work travel to Miami to meet with the unidentified woman.  On another occasion, Mr. Foster flew a male friend from the U.S. Virgin Islands to Las Vegas to meet “largely for recreational purposes.” He said taxpayers also picked up that tab, including airfare, hotel costs and rental car.  Email correspondence between Mr. Foster and the unidentified male said such things as, “Make sure you leave me some golf time!!” and “Thought we were going to the Grand Canyon on Saturday??”  How much do the rich have to contribute?

This should be welcomed news to those rich liberals who feel like they don’t pay enough in taxes.  Republicans have an answer to President Barack Obama’s “Buffett Rule” that would mandate a tax increase for wealthy Americans. Nine House Republicans, led by Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, introduced their own “Buffett Rule Act” Wednesday that would make it easier for rich taxpayers to give as much of their wealth to Uncle Sam as they want, The Hill reports.  The bill would have the IRS put a new line on individual tax forms to allow wealthy taxpayers to pony up more than they owe so that they can help reduce the government’s debt burden.

There’s more bad news for Obama out today.  The RealClearPolitics average approval poll for Obama shows the widest gap yet.  Just 42.5% approve of Obama’s job performance while a ful 51.5% disapprove.  In an ABC Poll released today, more trust the Republicans than Obama when it comes to handling the economy.

In the news for this Tuesday…

Can the Obama get through the week without another scandal?  The latest involves his attorney general, Eric Holder.  Back in May of this year, during testimony to the House Judiciary Committee, Eric Holder is alleged to have perjured himself when he said he was unaware of the ATF’s ‘Fast & Furious’ Program until just two weeks prior.  However, newly released documents show that not only was aware a year earlier, but he was briefed on its details.  In order to protect himself from prosecution for perjury, Holder now claims he “misunderstood the question”.  Is anyone really buying this?

President Barack Obama’s “green jobs” initiatives suffered another major blow late Monday, as the nonprofit National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, Colorado, announced a plan to lay off roughly 10 percent of its staff through a voluntary buy-out plan.  According to the Denver Post, the lab plans to eliminate between 100 and 150 of its 1,350 jobs. The Obama administration supported the NREL in 2009 with roughly $200 million in stimulus grants. Energy Secretary Stephen Chu visited Golden in May 2009 to promote the NREL as a beneficiary of those funds.  So much for “green jobs” being the way to the future unless of course that future leads to the unemployment line.

Did you read the report issued today by Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper?  Disabled and elderly drug abusers may be costing taxpayer-funded Medicare almost $150 million a year by convincing doctors to write prescriptions for oxycodone and other narcotics. About 170,000 patients in Medicare, the federal health program for the elderly and disabled, acquired often-abused drugs from at least five doctors each in 2008. Taxpayers subsidized multiple prescriptions of hydrocodone, fentanyl, oxycodone and other narcotics at a cost of $148 million in 2007, according to the report.  Wait until ObamaCare.

Obama’s “pass it now” job’s bill ran into some Senate Democrat turbulence today.  Senate Republicans tried to make Democrats hold a quick vote on President Obama’s jobs-stimulus bill Tuesday, but were blocked by Senate Majority Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who is sponsoring Mr. Obama’s bill but who said other matters take priority. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, tried to force a vote, which presumably would have resulted in a humiliating defeat for the White House.  “I’d like to give him that vote,” Mr. McConnell said.
